Abstract

Qaini is an unknown Persian scholar of the late Safavid .He has many works on astronomy, astronomical laws, the art of making astrolabes,optics,strange sciences,and interpretation.However, not only have many of his known books not been reviewed and corrected,but many of his lost works that he mentioned in his other treatises have also not been identified and listed.One of these works is Matal al-Arifin.Only one copy of this treatise has been identified in the library of the seminary of Hazrat Vali Asr Khansar was written in theoretical philosophy and theology and response in Persian to the philosophical theological questions of one of the kings of Jill and Daylam, The present research aims to examine the version of Matal al-Arifin in terms of form,structure,and content.

The findings of show that in addition to being a famous a scholar in astronomy,exotic sciences,Quranic interpretation,and optics,Qaini also left behind a noteworthy legacy in the fields of theoretical wisdom and theology,and was familiar with theological works before him.By writing Matal al-Arifin,he showed that he was familiar with the views of both the Akhbari theologians and philosophical theologians,who were two theological schools of thought after Astarabadi and Mulla Sadra,and that used them in work.Since criticized some of the beliefs of previous theologians and expressed his views in argumentative and explicit manner,this work can more light on the theological-philosophical trends and efforts of Shiite scholars after Mulla Sadra,help to make their works known,and provide glimpse into their intellectual,scientific,and philosophical dynamics in the final years of the Safavid era
