Historical Sciences Studies

Journal of Historical Sciences Studies, a biannual scientific-research publication from the Faculty of Literature and Humanities at the University of Tehran, is published twice a year. Based on Notification No. 60350/11/3 dated July 20, 2011, from the Commission for the Review of Scientific Journals of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the journal holds the Scientific-Research rank.This journal publishes original articles in various historical fields, including social history, political history, economic history, historical dynasties, pre-Islamic Iran, post-Islamic Iran, and Islamic history. In essence, it aims to publish scholarly work by professors, researchers, and students that presents new and original ideas, possesses scientific and research merit, and is fundamentally research-oriented. The "Journal of Historical Sciences Studies" welcomes all articles dedicated to the study of Iranian history in all its dimensions. The submission language for articles is Persian, and the journal is unable to accept manuscripts in other languages. Among its primary objectives is to cover pre-Islamic Iranian history, Islamic Iranian history, Islamic history, as well as political, social, cultural, religious, and military history, and research methodology.

  • In accordance with the request of the Commission for Iranian Scientific Journals, registration and display of a free ORCID iD and the use of an institutional/academic email address are mandatory for article authors. Therefore, respected authors are requested to obtain their ORCID iD and an institutional/academic email address before submitting their article to the journal.

Corresponding Author

  • The corresponding author of an article must be a faculty member of a university, center, or research institute. Submission of an article is free, but a written confirmation letter from the corresponding author and the forms below must be submitted with the article. PhD and Master's students cannot be the sole corresponding author. The designation of the corresponding author is otherwise open based on mutual agreement.

Article Format

  • The final version of the article, after completing the peer-review and acceptance stages, must be submitted using the journal's article template. Otherwise, it will not be processed. (Please refer to the Author Guidelines section).


Important Note:

  • For final accepted articles, authors must prepare, in addition to the short English abstract, an extended English abstract of 1000 to 1200 words. This extended abstract must be placed within the article according to the sample template and submitted along with other supplementary files through the journal's system.

  • Artificial intelligence may be used to review the spelling and grammar and to paraphrase the text of the English abstract.

Fee Payment Details

The Journal of Historical Sciences Studies charges a 1,500,000 Rials review fee for the initial assessment. If the article is accepted, a 4,500,000 Rials publication fee will be charged (total 6,000,000 Rials).
